課程概述 |
This course aims to offer hands-on translation training in developing students’ translation competence when handling the promotional text types. While facilitated by lecturer-guidance and comment, this course is highly student-centered which requires students’ proactive participation in their learning process through various in-class activities, including self-critique, peer-review, and oral presentations. Students will be translating bi-directionally in this course. |
課程目標 |
Following the introduction to the translation of promotional text type from theoretical and applied perspectives, students will translate a range of texts categorized under the promotional genres with foci on advertising materials, tourism pamphlets and/or website contents, promotional materials/pamphlets of products. Students will cultivate translation competence through both the transferring process and the reflective approach by being encouraged to reflect on their own translation process and decision-making process. Further to honing the translation skills for such a text type, students are also encouraged to develop and strengthen the revision and editing techniques. |
